STEM Advantage - WHAT'S HAPPENING!

All twelve STEM Advantage Scholars have received paid internships at leading companies and organizations. Mentors are helping scholars with everything from exploring career options to enhancing communication skills to demonstrating initiative in the workplace. In addition, we recently paid scholars' tuition, fees and books for the fall semester. Thank you to all of our donors, internship companies, mentors and sponsors for making this happen. We could not do it without you. This newsletter shares some of the scholars' experiences and we've updated the website with more details and quotes from them about their experiences. One-on-One Mentoring

A day in the life of a Project Manager: STEM Advantage Mentee, Rosalie T. spent a day with her Mentor Lynda Murray-Thomas prior to starting her internship at Toyota. She had the opportunity to see the tasks Lynda performs as an IT Project Manager at NBCUniversal- Universal Studios Hollywood. Rosalie met with various IT Directors and attended project status meetings. Also, Lynda gave Rosalie a behind-the-scenes tour of Universal Studios and they were even able to find time to grab lunch at Universal CityWalk. For more about the STEM Advantage Mentoring Program, click here...

STEM Scholarships

STEM Advantage Scholars receive a full scholarship for tuition, fees and books for one year, which is renewable as long as the student qualifies for the program. As student debt has passed $1 trillion, we believe students who pursue STEM careers should be rewarded for their drive and graduate with less student debt so they can pursue their dreams.
