Belmar Chase // Race to Rebuild

Nearly three years after Superstorm Sandy devastated the homes and lives of New Jersey and New York residents, the organizers of the Belmar Chase 5K and Runner's High owners Rob DeFilippis and Craig Segal are proud to announce that Race2Rebuild has been selected as the 2015 event's Title Charity Partner, with proceeds supporting Race2Rebuild's Sandy rebuilding projects on the Jersey Shore.

The 5K race on Saturday, August 22nd will bring thousands of runners to the borough of Belmar in Monmouth County, New Jersey, an area heavily damaged by Sandy in 2012, including the Belmar boardwalk. The flat, fast and scenic Ocean Avenue course is the USATF New Jersey Men's Master's Championship race and will include a "Race2Rebuild Pro Challenge" event, a pre-race expo and post-race party, where special prizes will be awarded to top fundraisers. On Sunday, August 23, Race2Rebuild athletes will participate as volunteers and rebuild a Sandy-damaged home for a Jersey Shore family as well as other community service projects.

Tips for Running in the Heat

As the heat ramps up here in NJ and summer has officially begun, Runner's High Owner Craig Segal wanted to give you some simple tips and tricks that'll keep you running during the warm summer months!!

Tip #1 - Rock that Brim

Now I know wearing a hat might not be the most preferred look for some females out there, but wearing protection on your head will keep you shaded and cool.  Getting ready for a long humid run? Dunk your hat into cold water before you take off and you'll be sure to stay cooler than your non-hat wearing running partners.
