Government Matters
June 27, 2016
You might think it's just click bait, but it's true - on-street parking is free downtown on Saturdays in July. Read more about getting around town and when our local elected officials need to hear from YOU.  We're also telling them "thank you" this Thursday, so make sure you continue to resolve to stay involved.
Getting around town
It's like Christmas in July. On-street metered parking will be FREE on Saturdays in downtown Chapel Hill during the month of July. Use this unique opportunity to check out downtown shopping and dining. Throughout town, you also may have seen bond funds at work and other road construction to increase mobility. Learn more at  townofchapelhill.org/roadwork and keep updated by searching for the hashtag #chtraffic.

[Not] just another Manic Monday
Tonight Chapel Hill Town Council meets for the last time before adjourning for the summer. Council members will discuss two important business issues: signage and modifications to the Ephesus Fordham code. Consider attending the last meeting or send your thoughts to [email protected].
Go west, young man [and woman]
Registration is live for our 2016 Inter-City Visit to Boulder, CO, Sept. 25-28. Why are we heading west? We hope to study multimodal transit, entrepreneurship, placemaking, and transit-oriented development. Watch these videos to learn more why people, including entrepreneurs, love Boulder. Scholarship support is available (deadline is July 15), but be sure to register online at  carolinachamber.org/icv2016 before prices increase August 1.
Survey says...
Now that they've asked, it's time for the business community to answer. Be sure to take two surveys - the parking survey deployed by the Town of Carrboro and the mobility survey deployed by the Town of Chapel Hill. Both municipalities need to know what would help improve both parking and pedestrian access for your customers and your employees.
