Women Voters and Lawmakers: A Woman's (Political) Work is Never Done

October is Women's History Month. This year, on the hundredth anniversary of (some) women in Canada winning the vote, ETFO has produced a short video on voting and political participation.

ETFO's MentorCoaching Institute for Women: Mentee Program

ETFO's MentorCoaching Institute for Women: Mentee Program is a unique two-year opportunity for women to work with a mentor to realize their union leadership aspirations. Mentees accepted into the program will work with a professionally trained ETFO woman mentor to help achieve their potential.

Qualifications to be considered as an Institute mentee: 
  • Commitment to women's leadership at ETFO local and/or provincial levels
  • Determination to further social justice, equity and union values 
  • Desire to develop leadership confidence and skills 
  • Two-year commitment to the Mentee Program 
The two-year program:
  • Training sessions:
    November 21-22, 2016; February 1, 2017; May 30, 2017 
  • Continue work with individual mentor: 2017-2018

Effective Negotiation Skills for Women Leaders: November 24 and 25, 2016

Effective Negotiation Skills for Women Leaders has been developed in partnership with Stitt Feld Handy Group, an internationally renowned Canadian firm specializing in negotiation and dispute resolution training.

Women who attend this workshop will be participating in an interactive format designed to enhance skills required in complex negotiations and dispute resolutions. The workshop also offers training in a variety of negotiation styles.

This workshop is designed for women who are currently involved in their local and/or at ETFO provincial and aspire to leadership positions in the union, including in the area of collective bargaining.

Applications are available on the ETFO website. The registration deadline is Friday, October 28, 2016.
