PRESIDENT HAMMOND TO REVEAL FALL WORK-TO-RULE
STRATEGY ON THURSDAY

President Hammond Connects Working Conditions to Learning Conditions During Annual Meeting Address

ETFO President Sam Hammond addressed collective bargaining and ETFO's current work-to-rule job action during his Annual Meeting address on Monday. President Hammond affirmed that during this round of collective bargaining, ETFO members have "drawn a line in the sand together and said NO to OPSBA's demands to erode working and learning conditions" during their work-to-rule job action. He noted that after "two very frank conversations with government representatives," ETFO decided to return to the bargaining table on September 1.

President Hammond concluded by saying that ETFO expects the parties sitting at the table on September 1 to engage in serious bargaining and "if that doesn't happen, then I say to the government and OPSBA: "You are in for the fight of your lives."
