Ontario school boards must have lockdown plans for each worksite. Click here to access the Ministry's lockdown policy.
In practical terms, doors with locks should be in working order. Occasional teachers should have classroom keys and staff must be able to contact the office quickly and easily. Each school year, there have to be two lockdown drills. Report concerns about lockdown procedures to the principal. Get support from your local president.
