SLHS and March of Dimes partner for stronger, healthier babies
Join our team - and the fun - at the 2013 March for Babies
Saint Luke's Health System (SLHS) is honored to be the presenting sponsor of the 2013 March for Babies, the annual fundraising walk for the March of Dimes. We need our employees' help and participation to make a major difference in the lives of mothers and newborns across our region.
For 75 years, the March of Dimes has been fighting premature birth, birth defects, and infant mortality. Supporting babies and mothers is particularly important to Saint Luke's in 2013 as we celebrate our 100th year of delivering babies at Saint Luke's Hospital. It's also the March of Dimes' 75th anniversary of helping babies, both those born healthy and those who "need help to survive and thrive." It's the perfect time to recognize Saint Luke's long-standing partnership with the March of Dimes, including being the first March of Dimes Family Support Program in Kansas City, and its impact on countless families in our community.
The money raised at the March for Babies helps more moms have full-term pregnancies. It also helps doctors, nurses, and researchers ensure premature babies have the best outcomes possible.
Mark your calendar to join employees and families from across SLHS on Sunday, April 28, at the March for Babies.

Special message from Julie Quirin
 | Julie Quirin, CEO, Saint Luke's Hospital |
Almost everyone in Kansas City has a connection to Saint Luke's maternity care - whether you were born at Saint Luke's yourself, delivered a child at Saint Luke's, or have friends or family who have delivered their babies here. That's because Saint Luke's Health System hospitals deliver the most babies in Kansas City year after year.
I'm reminded why we're No. 1 each time I see the incredible caring and compassion in our maternity units, or when I hear from a family whose lives were touched by their newborn's Saint Luke's experience. I'm so proud Saint Luke's Health System has the very best doctors, nurses, and maternity care in the region.
Another reason for our success is our partnership with organizations like the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes shares our commitment to babies and their health. Thanks to their incredible efforts, thousands of babies who might have faced challenges have had a healthy start at life.
I am honored to be chair of the Kansas City March for Babies this year, and I'm excited to lead the Saint Luke's team as we join thousands of our friends and neighbors in supporting the March of Dimes.
As the presenting sponsor of this year's event, we set our goals high. We want 1,000 walkers on our team and we want to raise $200,000. With your participation and support, we can make this the most successful March for Babies ever.
I hope you'll help me remind Kansas City why we're the No. 1 choice for babies by supporting this great cause. I look forward to seeing you April 28!
- Julie
