WE NEED A BREAK!
It’s that time of year when we give our children’s teachers and assistants a break from teaching. To do that, however, we need YOU to jump in and help. We need teachers and assistants for our children’s Bible classes at 9:30 and 11:00 on Sunday mornings. Make it easy on yourself by grabbing a friend and alternating weeks. You and your partner will have some great fun along with your students. Please pray about your commitment and contact Billy Kersh as soon as possible.

Picnic in the Park
We will kick off the summer with our annual Picnic in the Park on Sunday, June 9, at Medi-Park area #9 (between the playground and the Discovery Center). Hamburgers and hot dogs with all the fixin’s will be served by Youngblood’s Catering at 6:30 PM. Tickets will be on sale starting Saturday, June 1. Adults (ages 12 and up) are $6; kids (ages 2-11) are $2.

Run With A Mission
Run With A Mission is here! WACC is hosting the 5k race and 1-mile walk this Saturday, June 1, at Austin Park to help raise funds for Barry and Shelly Wilson's international adoption and Arrow Child and Family Ministries, an emergency child-care and foster agency located in Amarillo. You can learn more, register for the race, and even donate to the cause online at wacconline.org/run.

Community Work Project: Muscle Needed
We’re gauging interest in a possible work project benefitting the Bair Foundation Children’s Home here in Amarillo. The project is to build a half-court basketball area; it will involve excavation, concrete work, forming, etc., and will occur sometime within the next 8 weeks. If you are interested in participating in this hand’s-on community outreach project, please contact Darnel Wassinger by phone (352-1307) or email.

ICW Lunch Fundraiser
Iglesia Cristiana Washington (ICW), our sister church, will be serving an authentic Mexican lunch of Chile Verde (pork meat), rice and beans, this Sunday, June 2, after both worship services in the fellowship hall; “to go” plates may also be requested. Donations will be accepted. This fundraiser helps ICW pay for members to attend camps and seminars. The food is delicious and the cause is very worthwhile. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Across the Table
Join us for a free all-church women’s event the second Tuesday of each summer month: June 11, July 9, and August 13, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM in the fellowship hall. It is for women of all ages, and you may attend any one or all of the evenings. We will have a potluck meal, but only half of you need to bring food – so you can choose to cook or choose to stay and help clean up afterwards. We will combine dinner, laughter, a devotional study, and a mission project all into one amazing evening! Our first event will feature Sharing Hope Ministry and speaker Margaret Willis, who will share how God turned a two-year prison sentence into a life of freedom. Complementary tickets are available at the information desk before and after worship services, or in the church office during the week. Bring a friend and enjoy a fun get-together!

Amarillo’s TMOM event will be June 28 and 29, at the Civic Center and volunteers of all kinds are needed: professionals, nurses, and anyone willing to share a few hours to work, registering, handing out snacks, working hospitality, greeting, assisting dentists, and more. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact tdasf.org and register as a volunteer or contact Don Nicholson at 676-1512.

Diaper and Formula Drive for CareNet Pregnancy Centers
Each year WACC helps out CareNet, one of our favorite ministries, by collecting diapers and formula. There are barrels located in the church hallways for your donations. Any kind of diapers are fine; CareNet asks that formula be Enfamil brand or the generic equivalent. It’s all expensive! Your generosity can help provide the means for young parents to be able to choose LIFE for their babies. Thank you!!

Camp Agape Benefit Concert
There will be a concert featuring the group, Far From Home, on June 21, at 7:00 PM, at Valleyview Church. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. A love offering will be taken for Camp Agape, a Christian camp for students with disabilities. For more information go to vvnaz.org/FFH or call 806-358-8829.
