 CELEBRATION OF INNOVATION

Boone County Schools held it's 3rd annual Celebration of Innovation Luncheon this month.  This event showcases the outstanding innovative experiences our schools are offering students to prepare them to become globally competitive, college, career and life ready.  Every school in the district had a table or two to showcase student driven innovations.
This year the luncheon focused on new additions to the district:  Makerspace, Early College and School of Design.  WKRC Local 12 News morning anchor Sheila Gray emceed the event.  Below are pictures from the event put on by the Boone County Education Foundation.  The BCEF financially supports innovative approaches to teaching and learning in the Boone County Schools.

School of Design
The BCS School of Design is located at Gateway Community College.  At the School of Design BCS students focus on the digital arts.  This is the future for the creative class of jobs.  Students taking this class earn three certifications; Dreamweaver, Illustrator and Photoshop.  They also create a portfolio that depicts to potential employers that student's academic accomplishments.  Currently 40 students from all Boone County High Schools are enrolled in Design School.
