Toss vs. Hunger
A big thank you for all those who turned out Saturday for a Florence Freedom game at the UC Health Stadium. Saturday's game was dedicated to Feeding Hungry People through Master Provisions. It was called Toss vs. Hunger. You toss a chicken to strike out hunger while at the same time dunking your favorite local celebrity on the dunking booth. First up on the dunking booth, Superintendent Dr. Randy Poe. Dr. Poe was a good sport as children and adults attempted to dunk him. Most were successful. See for yourself.
The came to take in a good game
They lined up to dunk a Superintendent
Dr. Poe makes fun of their throw telling them to aim for the red circle
And...the laugh is on him
Someone else has fun at Dr. Poe's expense

Boone County Fair
First Church of Christ partnered with the City Gospel Mission and Boone County Schools during the Boone County Fair (August 3-8) to raise money for the Whiz Kids Tutoring and Mentoring program. A big thank you to all those who participated by either working the table to sell Dunk Tank tickets, those who bought tickets and especially those who sat on the Dunk Tank for two hours periods getting dunked over and over again all in the name of helping provide that children who need it will benefit from Whiz Kids.
