New Superintendent's Student Advisory Council Leader Elected for 2015-2016 School Year
 
Michael Henry - Cooper High School
Michael Henry from Cooper High School was elected last week as the new Student Representative for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year.  Henry will be the 14th student representative elected to Boone County Schools by student delegates of the Superintendent's Student Advisory Council (SSAC) since the SSAC was created in 2002.  The Student Board Representative is a non-voting member of the Board of Educating representing the student viewpoint to the School Board.  Michale Henry will preside over the SSAC. The SSAC meets once a month during the school year and focuses on developing council member leadership skills.

Elementary,Middle and High Schools each have two members represented at the delegate assembly. Each High School nominates 1 candidate for Student School Board Representative.  The 4 candidates create a campaign video to be broadcast in all schools.

Election Day

 

The 4 candidates gave their final campaign speeches to the student delegates.  Then the student delegates cast their ballots with the results certified by the Boone County Clerk.

Governor's Scholars Announced!

 

The Governor's Scholars Program is a summer residential program for outstanding high school students in Kentucky who are rising seniors.  The program's mission is to enhance Kentucky's next generation of civic and economic leaders.
