Yes, today was the first day of school and now we are talking about early graduation! No better time to talk about the future than today.

The district will host an Early Graduation Informational Session on August 25th from  7:00 -8:00 at the Ralph Rush Staff Development Center located at 99 Center Street in Florence. Information regarding the new Early Graduation regulation which makes it possible for students to move on an accelerated timeline through high school and graduate college-ready before the typical four years of high school or age 18 will be shared.  You may visit the Kentucky Department of Education website to read about the Early Graduation regulation.

ELEMENTARY NEWS

This summer 'Go Pantry' worked in collaboration with Yealey Elementary's Family Resource Center (FRC) Program to provide nutritional food to families. Once a week, prepared boxes, could be picked up at the Family Resource Center. All preparation was done weekly by a group of volunteers from Go Pantry. This service was well received and all families were invited to a picnic to celebrate the end of the summer break and all children received a backpack filled with school supplies. Principal Linda Black said, "This group of people have been amazing all summer. Katie Hiatt, one of the team members and a teacher at Yealey, is an inspiration to all of our staff. Her willingness to go above and beyond to remove all barriers for our kids and their families is truly inspiring."
