Preparing For Emergencies

Training on how to counter attack an intruder |
It's important to know your school district is prepared in the event of an emergency. Boone County School District administrators, faculty and staff are continually undergoing training for all types of emergencies. Safety trainings are periodically updated to include and address new and evolving situations. This month staff members from each school participated in a week long Management of Emergencies Classroom Course. These staff members will train other staffers and students starting in the fall on things like preparing a classroom or assembly in advance of an incident, emergency medical, fire suppression and rescue, enhanced lockdowns including when to evacuate in the case of an active shooter and when and how to counter attack an intruder as seen in the photo above. Also, how to manage the aftermath of a crisis event. These safety trainings are part of an ongoing, never ending emergency preparedness process within the Boone County School District. |
