Break The Mold February Award Winner
Stephens Elementary School Drama Teacher Chad Caddell is seen by his peers as the teacher who Breaks The Mold. Chad does more than demostrate the 4C's: creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking. He is the 4c's according to his students. He is one of the driving forces behind Stephens initiative to integrate the arts with ELA and Math in a project based format. It's been said that if you need a 'pick me up' go to Stephens Elementary and sit in on Mr. Caddell's drama class...you won't want to leave! See Chad at work! |
Nine Teachers Achieve National Board Certification
Nine Boone County teachers have been recognized for the highest symbol of professional teaching excellence.
Congratulations to our newest recipients:
Briana Smith of Goodridge Elementary, Natasha (Yust) Averett of Cooper High, Caitlin Loftis of Burlington Elementary, Emily Vogt of Collins Elementary, Amy Lawrence of Florence Elementary, Kristi Ives of Mann Elementary and three from Ryle High, Ana Call, Stephanie Gambrel and Tanya Babik. National Board Certification is an advanced teaching credential. As part of this process, teachers must analyze their teaching content and students' needs, submit videos of their teaching, and provide student work samples that demonstrate growth and achievement. The outcome is more powerful teaching that improves student achievement and reflects college and career readiness. |
