Boone County Schools recognized for implementing PBIS with Fidelity
The Board of Education recognized the following schools for implementing PBIS with fidelity at the September School Board meeting:
Conner High School, Cooper High School,Alternative Center for Education (ACE), Camp Ernst Middle School, Conner Middle School, Gray Middle School, Jones Middle School, Burlington Elementary School, Collins Elementary School, Erpenbeck Elementary School, Florence Elementary School, Goodridge Elementary School, Kelly Elementary School, Longbranch Elementary School, Mann Elementary School, New Haven Elementary School, North Pointe Elementary School, Ockerman Elementary School, Stephens Elementary School, Thornwilde Elementary School and Yealey Elementary School.
The Boone County School District has embraced Positive Behavioral Intervention & Supports (PBIS) to enhance school climate and culture across the district. PBIS is a research-based model that studies have shown to improve student academic and behavior outcomes. PBIS provides a framework for analyzing school wide behavior referrals to make decisions and solve problems based on their individual school needs.
PBIS implementation helps our schools have more engaging, responsive, preventative, and productive learning environments, improve classroom /bus management and address disciplinary issues based on data analysis, improve supports for students whose behaviors require more specialized assistance and maximize academic engagement and achievement for all students. |
Board recognizes Parent Power Award recipients
The Boone County Board of Education established the PARENT POWER Award in order to recognize parents who have a significant impact on the advancement, growth and development of Boone County Schools. Parental engagement and involvement in your child's education has a substantial influence on their education.
