HealthPoint Family Care providing on-site care at R.A. Jones Middle School

HealthPoint Family Care is pleased to partner with Boone County Schools to provide onsite healthcare to your children.

 

The HealthPoint School Based Health Centers (SBHC) is located at R.A. Jones Middle School - 8000 Spruce Drive in Florence.  An additional center will be coming to Conner Middle School in the fall of 2013.

There is no charge with your Medicaid ID number or card.
A $30 fee is charged for office visit to uninsured patients-vaccines at no charge.  A $55 fee is charged for privately insured patients--vaccines are available at an additional cost for students with private insurance.

The School Based Health Center can provide many services including:
  • Well-child exams, school physicals, sport physicals
  • Sick visits, prescriptions
  • Immunizations (for Medicaid and uninsured students)
  • Over-the-counter medications (ie: Tylenol)
  • Assistance in management of chronic illnesses
  • Providing and/or connecting students with mental health services
  • Vision screenings.
Students from any Boone County School can go for comprehensive preventive and primary health care services. The center is staffed by a Nurse Practitioner and a School Nurse. It will be open every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday during the school year.  Back to school physicals are available this week.

U.S. Army and Pro Football Hall of Fame Announce

High School Athlete Award Finalists

The U.S. Army and the Pro Football Hall of Fame announced the 10 high school athlete finalists for the U.S. Army - Pro Football Hall of Fame - Award for Excellence. The program entering its second year was first introduced by Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe at the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, highlights the achievements in and out of the classroom of student-athletes across the country.

The Award for Excellence program, which is open to all United States sophomore and junior level high school athletes, focuses on not only athletic achievement, but excellence in academics and community involvement.

Each of the 10 finalists will travel to the 2014 U.S. Army All-American Bowl and participate in various activities. The winner of the Award for Excellence will be announced during the Bowl's Awards Ceremony on Jan. 3, 2014. The inaugural Award for Excellence was awarded last year to Nate Lowis from Sacred-Heart Griffin High School in Springfield, Illinois.
