Kids Voting Future Civic Leaders
kids votingKids Voting Northern Kentucky is a leader in civic education. The non-profit, non-partisan organization exists to teach young people the importance of voting and help them develop the habit of voting. On Election Day, future voters go to the polls with their parents and cast their vote in a mock election at a Kids Voting booth.

The organization recognized three Boone County Schools students at their Kids Voting Civic Leadership Awards Luncheon last week.  Congratulations to Connor Bechtol from Cooper High School, Halle Noel from Conner High School and Madison Borders from Boone County High School for receiving this honor.

Dreamfest at N.K.U.

53 students from our middle schools traveled to Dreamfest last week at Northern Kentucky University.

Dreamfest is an opportunity for gifted and talented youth to experience hands-on learning with their peers, interact with experts, learn in college classrooms and "Dream" experiences unable to be found in school.

The event offered two main sessions and students could select from 60 sessions which included topics like Exploring Character, Write Your Heart Out and Math Magic.

Goodridge is Mad About Math

GESGoodridge Elementary students and their families recently participated in the school's March Math Madness Night sponsored by the Family Resource Center with support from the Title I Program.

Families had fun working together to make their own trail mix, using directions utilizing fractions, visited the "Estimation Station", competed in a math scavenger hunt and even participated in a Human Battleship Game.
