Regional Governor's Cup results

for High School 

Congratulations to Conner High School who has won the 2013 Regional - High School Governor's Cup!  Other winners from the competition are:

Ockerman Middle students shine in State and National Storytelling

Carson Latham, lll and Madee Weaver won first place in the State KY Youth Storytelling Showcase  in the  Middle School Age Individual Division.  They were selected as two of five "Torchbearers" representing the state of Kentucky in the National Youth Storytelling Showcase in Utah.  Carson and Madee are both eighth grade members of the Ockerman Middle School Speech Team coached by Kathy Bacelieri. 

 

Carson went on to win the title of National Storyteller in the Middle School Age Individual Division.  Congratulations to both students and Ms. Bacelieri! 

Erpenbeck Elementary's Janette Van Laningham wins Outstanding Teacher Award

The Cincinnatus Society, Northern Kentucky University, University of Cincinnati and Xavier University sponsor the C3 Outstanding Teacher Awards.  These organizations annually honor six outstanding and innovative teachers who actively participate in the school community beyond the expectation of their teaching duties. 

 

Mrs. Janette Van Laningham from Erpenbeck Elementary was honored with this prestigious award!  Mrs. Van Laningham has been teaching young children to read at Erpenbeck Elementary since it opened in 1998. 

 

The award was given February 12, 2013 at the University of Cincinnati and was presented to her by Dr. Mark Wasicsko, Dean of the College of Education and Human Services, NKU.

Ryle High School JV Cheerleaders place 9th at NHSCC

Ryle's Junior Varsity squad placed 9th in the Nation in the Large Junior Varsity Division of The National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC) on February 8th and 9th.

 

This competition is the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the country. The NHSCC is held at the Walt Disney WorldŽ Resort in Orlando, Florida, and nationally televised on ESPN and ESPN2 to over 100 million homes and 32 countries nationwide each year.

Congratulations to the JV squad for their outstanding performance!
