JMJ
Dear Sacred Heart Family and Friends,
Despite the unusual May snow, Sacred Heart has experienced dozens of opportunities to rejoice the last few weeks! There has been so much to commemorate, honor, and learn. We celebrate student accomplishments, parish involvement, parent communication, creativity, and collaboration. I am very pleased to share this good news.
As promised, I want to inform you of our Kansas Assessment Math scores, notably that 90.4% of students in grades 3-8th met standards in Math with 31% of our students scoring in the highest exemplary category. These scores are astounding, as were our reading scores, which I wrote about in an earlier letter. (95% of students in grades 3-8 met standards with 36% of students scoring in the exemplary category).
Our 2nd graders received their first Communion and our 8th graders received the Sacrament of Confirmation - both beautiful gifts of the sacramental life we are blessed with in our Church.
We honored our Blessed Mother last week at May Crowning. Watching the children present flowers to our Lady brought tears to my eyes and seeing the 2nd graders process into Mass in their precious first communion gowns and suits was moving beyond words.
Our parish came together for the Brown Bottle auction. It was my first experience at this event and I can't wait to go again next year...so much fun!
Just a walk through the halls at Sacred Heart is extraordinary. Our kids truly are the paramount of goodness and our teachers are simply the best professional, faith-filled educators!
I'm a humbled and grateful principal and I thank each of you for making this first year of my tenure at Sacred Heart a heartfelt treasure.
Check out this short video with pictures that capture the joy of the last few weeks.
