Discovery Club Gives Back!
Discovery Club kids have been busy this winter with projects that give back to the community! Rondo Discovery Club 4th-6th graders raised $318 for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation through a Holiday Craft sale that the group did as part of a Service Learning Project. The students selected a cause, made crafts and were visited by Karen Huechert from the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Minnesota.
Randolph Heights Discovery Club hosted an art show right before winter break, raising over $200 for Neighborhood House.
In November, Crossroads and JJ Hill Discovery Clubs collected items to be sent overseas to military service members (Shop, Ship and Share).

Bullying Prevention at L'Etoile du Nord On December 19th, L'Etoile du Nord Discovery Club hosted a play by the Pacer Center called, "Kids Against Bullying". In two half-hour segments, all the 3rd graders at LNFI watched these child-size puppets teach them about bullying prevention. There were question and answer segments spread throughout the presentation. Once the puppets appeared, kids were immediately engaged. It was a great way to reinforce the already strong bullying prevention program at the school.
