Message from Vice Chancellor Parham
Vice Chancellor Thomas A. Parham, Ph.D.
Fall 2015 has arrived and with it, an opportunity to welcome you to the University of California Irvine's new academic year.

In 2014, we started our celebration of the campus's 50th Anniversary with President Obama as our guest speaker for our Commencement ceremony. This year, we will continue the celebration with an Academic Symposium Series and our Festival of Discovery on October 3. I invite you to the campus during the Festival of Discovery to take a look at how we plan to shape the next 50 years in the areas of ingenuity and innovation, arts and culture, health and wellness, and our local and global impact.

As we close out our 50th Anniversary activities, I reflect on our motto "Bright Past, Brilliant Future." It has indeed been a bright past for the campus and with our recent national prominence -  #9 Public University in the U.S. News & World Report, #1 Coolest School by Sierra Magazine, and  #1 College Access Index by the New York Times - UCI's future is as brilliant as ever.
