Commencement is almost here and it's time to select gifts for your graduate!

The Hill, UC Irvine's bookstore, has a great selection of gear and UCI memorabilia including mugs, apparel and license plate frames. Class rings are available to order through links on The Hill's website.

Graduation sashes, leis, flowers and decorated caps help to make memorable photos of graduation day. Your grad can demonstrate Anteater pride - ZOT! ZOT! ZOT! - by wearing a graduation sash in UCI colors with the class year. Sashes are valuable for purchase at The Hill store and at The Hill booths at the ceremonies.

Commencement Flowers will have booths at all ceremonies to purchase flower and lei gifts ($10-$40) for your grad. Order ahead of time - pre-orders are accepted! Security check: Please be advised that bag checks will be conducted at all Commencement ceremonies at the entry doors prior to entering the Bren Events Center. 

Please be prepared for inspection of large personal items such as:

• Backpacks
• Large tote bags
• Large camera bags
• Large purses

We recommend that you leave these items at home or in a secure location rather than bringing with you to the commencement ceremonies.

The 2012-2013 UC Irvine Anthology Yearbook, In a Moment, is now available. The yearbook makes a memorable gift for Anteater students, including graduates!

Produced by a staff of approximately 25 students, the 296-page book covers many of the year's events, academics, athletics, residential life, with stories, issues, trends and more.

In a Moment can be ordered online at www.yearbook.uci.edu and picked up on campus at the Student Government & Student Media Office, G-244 in the Student Center (across from the ATM machines on the terrace level). Yearbooks can be purchased at that location too.

Disneyland may have dibs on "The Happiest Place on Earth," but UC Irvine can claim happiest campus - or at least pretty high up there. 

According to U.S. Department of Education statistics reported recently, UC Irvine ranks 11th in the nation among public universities for student happiness, based on freshman retention rates.
