HOPE HOUSE WORKDAY

On July 23, a group from HillSong volunteered at Hope Valley Baptist Church and World Relief Durham's project, Hope House of Durham. The work involved renovating a former parsonage into a temporary home for refugees resettling in this area. The group removed gutters and baseboards, sanded and painted porch railing, and cleaned up waste and debris from the demo work.

HOLE4ONE GOLF TOURNAMENT
A big thank you to the golfers, volunteers and those who donated items to make our Hole4One Golf Classic a success! We could not have done it without each one of you. It was a great day of golf and fellowship. We raised over $1,000 to benefit our two CarePoints in Kombolcha, Ethiopia. Congratulations to Tom Timmons and his team who won this year's tournament.

Opportunities for Ministry and Fellowship
CELEBRATING COMMUNION WITH MISSIONS, GAMES & FOOD
Potluck
As a HillSong Family, we gather around the Lord's Table every other month and we remember what Jesus has provided and that he calls us to be the body that lives as his "hands and feet." We traditionally celebrate this community afterwards with a Pot Luck luncheon, but beginning this month, there will be two more ways for us to extend the fellowship.

Our next communion weekend is August 27th and 28th. On Saturday, join us for a family missions project and a HillSong game night! Details here. If you are able, bring a dish to share on Sunday.

Our church will go through a renewal in 2017 in which we explore our congregational identity especially as it relates to race and ethnicity. We are guided by the vision of Revelation 7:9-10
"I looked [into Heaven], and there was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, robed in white, with palm branches in their hands. 10 They cried out in a loud voice, saying, 'Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!'"
God is calling HillSong to be a Revelation 7 Church. Evangelical Christianity has, in recent years seen the rise of churches based on Biblical projections. There are "3rd day churches", "8th Day  Communities," and "Acts 29 Churches." these movements come from understanding scripture and understanding the church today as the continuation of the resurrection community
