The Messiah in the Old Testament (Deuteronomy)
- from Pastor Rob
|

I began this year by examining a book called The Messiah in the Old Testament by Walter Kaiser, of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He went through OT texts to show how the Messiah, Jesus, had been a part of God's plan from the beginning. In reviewing Kaiser's book, so far I have looked at his ideas about early Messianic anticipation in Genesis 3:15 (Adam, Eve and the Serpent), in Genesis 9 (Noah), in the promise God made to Abraham that through him God would bless all the peoples of the earth (Genesis 12:3; 18:18; 22:18); and, in Genesis 48:10, which Kaiser believes it meant to mean that the one from Judah will govern until the Messiah comes at which point the Messiah (Jesus) will rule the world.
You can check my blog from January and February to read my posts reviewing Kaiser's assessment of these passages. I did not get to blog about the book in March or April, but am back to it now.

ELECTRONIC GIVING
HillSong offers electronic giving as a way to automate regular tithes/offerings (i.e. weekly, monthly, etc.) or make one-time donations to the general fund and special offerings. Electronic giving is convenient and provides much-needed donation consistency to support ministries, missions and operating costs of the church. Making electronic donations is totally under your control and fully secured. Go to the HillSong website at any time to set up an automatic donation plan, change your donation plan, make a one-time donation or view your online donation history. As you contemplate future contributions, please consider electronic giving. Additional information is available here.
GIVING BY CASH OR CHECK
Of course, you can always make cash or check contributions. To ensure your donations are accurately recorded for tax purposes, follow these tips.
Note: All checks should be made payable to "HillSong Church," unless directed otherwise.
- Place your donation in an offering envelope provided by the church - write your full name legibly on the outside of the envelope. Envelopes are in the back pocket of the sanctuary chairs.
- Please fill in the amount and the category on the envelope face--if the category is left blank, your donation will be assumed to be a General Fund donation.
- Use separate envelopes and please write separate checks -- if you are making donations to the General Fund and a SPECIALS (i. e. Helping Hand, etc.) fund designation. This helps the money counters sort and deposit your donation quickly and accurately.
