The Changing Face of Transportation

Hello KYSITE!

In honor of the NCAA basketball tournament, we thought we'd feature a few facts and figures you might find interesting.  Thanks to KidzWorld for the facts!

  • The first NCAA Championship Basketball Tournament was played in 1939 and was won by the University of Oregon Ducks. Back then, only eight teams were part of the tournament.
  • The NCAA Basketball Tournament expanded to include 64 teams in 1985.
  • Shaquille O'Neal set an NCAA record by blocking 11 shots in one game for LSU in 1989.
  • The most points scored by one team during the NCAA Basketball Tournament is 149, scored by Loyola Marymount against Michigan during the second round of the 1990 tournament.
  • The fewest points scored by one team is 20, scored by North Carolina in their 26-20 loss against Pittsburgh in 1941.
Good luck to your favorite team.  And yes, there is only one correct favorite team.  You know which one that is.

Vote now for SDITE Officers

Calling all SDITE members to vote.  This year is particularly important as we have one of our elite on the ballot.  Scott Walker is running for Southern District Office.   Go to this voting link  right now because voting ends March 31st.  Our group is not as large as many of the others so every vote is critical.  Over the last ten-plus years Scott has served an instrumental role as a leader within the local KYSITE group as well as international ITE through his vision, outreach and communication.  Hopefully you have enjoyed the bi-weekly newsletter that he worked to start for the section and the monthly one he manages for the District.  Scott also served as the Chairman to the Joint Great Lakes/Southern District Annual Meeting in Lexington in 2012.  Scott has done a great deal to move KYSITE and SDITE forward in a positive direction.  Now it is your time to do your part and vote.

He has mine.  Stuart Sparks, PE, PTOE, KYSITE President

And for those of you want looking to waste another few minutes on this opening day, here's another clip.  But it's not basketball related.  Instead, it's a video clip of the real Michael Bolton playing Michael Bolton in an Office Space clip.  It should be very amusing for you Office Space fans out there.  Check it out at this link.
