The Changing Face of Transportation

Hello KYSITE!

football map

Thursday night kicks off football season!  Who is ready?

In honor of the return of the gridiron sport, here are some fun NFL football facts, courtesy of Football Babble.

  • No network footage exists of Super Bowl I. It was reportedly taped over (for a soap opera, according to some rumors).
  • In 1973, Ray Guy became the first punter ever drafted in the first round (23rd overall to the Raiders).
  • The record for the most fumbles in a single game is seven (QB Len Dawson of the Chiefs).
  • For a year's supply of footballs for the NFL, it takes 3,000 cows to supply the leather.
  • The three bird mascots of the Baltimore Ravens are named Edgar, Allan and Poe.

Let us know if you need anything from KYSITE!

Arlington Gets Public Transporation
By: Billy Garrison

The biggest city in the USA without public transportation is Arlington, Texas. That is going to change in 2014, for at least one year. In a public/private partnership, Arlington is set to to start running buses. After one year, the public will vote on wether to pay to keep the buses or not to. To read more, click here.
Amazing Roads XIII
By: Anne Warnick

Up this week on the Weather Channel's 15 most amazing roads list is number 13, a mountain road in the fjords of Norway. All images and descriptions all come straight from weather.com.

The World's 15 Most Amazing Roads

Lyesbotn Road, Norway

Featuring 27 switchbacks that climb up the steep walls of the fjord here in Lysefjord, Norway, the Lysebotn Road is considered one of Europe's most breathtakingly scenic roads. At the bottom of the road lies a tunnel that stretches just over half a mile long and features three of its own switchbacks inside, called the Lysetunnelen.

Thanks to the heavy snows that fall here throughout much of the year, the Lysebotn Road is open only from May through October or November (depending on when the snow arrives).
