KYSITE Annual Meeting Summary
By: Lindsay Walker (Parsons Brinckerhoff)
The KYSITE Annual Meeting was held at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky on Thursday, November 8th, 2012. The attendees enjoyed an evening out with good music, food, and social networking.
The Dilemma Zone made its second appearance following a very well-received debut at the Officer's Reception as part of the SDITE / GLDITE Joint Annual Meeting this past April. Their jazz blend was enjoyed by all prior to dinner while everyone mingled and bid on a wide array of items donated for the silent auction.
$450 was raised from the auction which goes directly to fund the KYSITE Scholarship fund. Other highlights of the evening include several awards to outstanding section members. A special presentation was given by Scott Walker, LAC Chair for the SDITE / GLDITE Joint Annual Meeting. As a token of appreciation, street signs branded with the meeting logo were given to LAC members present. It was again remembered how the contribution of our small, but enthusiastic section made the meeting this past April such a success.
The formal part of the meeting concluded with the 2013 KYSITE Officer inductions.

Being Thankful @ KYSITE
Here at KYSITE, we have many things to be thankful for, including:
- Awesome professionals that make up our membership
- Committed officers who do more behind the scenes that most people will ever realize
- Computers and online Black Friday deals so we don't have to be stuck in the traffic that we study every day
- The fact that we have 8 more years before we have to host another District ITE Meeting

The Individual Activity Award was given to Stuart Sparks, PE for his dedicated service this past year (and previous several years) as an officer as well as a promotions champion of the section, finding ways to secure free advertising, signs, and marketing for KYSITE activities as well as for the SDITE / GLDITE Joint Annual Meeting.
Congrats to Anne and Stuart -- and thank you both for your hard work. |

Transportation Superlatives III:
Most Complicated Interchange in the U.S.
This is the third of a series of 'transportation superlatives' which will highlight roads of the highest order, extreme or degree. Thanks again to Diane Zimmerman for passing these along!
Judge Harry Pregerson Interchange - Los Angeles, USA
The Judge Harry Pregerson Interchange is situated in Los Angeles , CA and is one of the most complicated interchanges in the country. It permits entry and exit in all directions between the I-105 and the I-110. It's a stack interchange with layers of bridges making a complicated network of roads allowing smooth flow of traffic though both the interstate highways. This interchange was opened in 1993. It is a 4 level interchange with a restricted access lane that can be used by high-occupancy vehicles.
