Tubac Luminaria Nights

Join the village in this annual holiday tradition.

There will be a tree-lighting ceremony on Friday at  

5:30 PM. Santa will visit both nights and there will be refreshments and holiday music throughout the village.

 

 

Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a flashlight.

Art Experience 2012

The enhanced Art Experience 2012 (Nov. 3 & 4) was a great success this first year. We had 40 artists in street-side tents outside the 17 galleries which represent them. The event was well received by the public.

The Chamber's focus was to use all the funds collected for advertising and we succeeded in doing that. We had ads in the Green Valley News, Sahuarita Sun, Santa Cruz Valley Sun, Nogales International, Tubac Villager and The Connection. Our public service announcements were heard on many TV and radio stations and we had a segment on KGUN 9's Morning Blend. We hope to build on this format in the future.

Making Tubac Shine!

The ad hoc Tubac improvement committee, spearheaded by Armor Todd, and named "Tubac Together", has done an excellent job of sprucing up the Village in anticipation of the winter visitors.

The public restrooms in the Tubac Plaza have been been revitalized with fresh coats of paint, new tin roofs, replaced wood and a brand new sign.

The wall opposite Tubac Deli has been painted a rich terracotta color, and the street signs at the corner of each street have been newly painted.

There are many more plans in the works and much enthusiasm. Thanks to all who worked so hard on these projects.


54th Annual Tubac Festival of the Arts
February 6 - 10, 2013

Arizona's longest running art festival, the 54th Annual Tubac Festival of the Arts takes place February 6 - 10, 2013 from  10 am to 5 pm daily. 175 juried artists from around the country will be on hand exhibiting their works.  

Festival booths will line Tubac's streets as they are juxtaposed with more than 100 unique shops, galleries and working artists' studios.  

 

Free horse-drawn trolleys, diverse entertainment and fine festival foods round out the experience. Admission is free.

 

 
2013 Chamber Memberships
Due December 31, 2012

Your 2012 memberships are due to expire December 31, 2012. In order to be eligible to vote in the 2013 Board elections (or hold office) membership dues must be paid by year end. Please watch the mail for for membership renewal forms.

2013 Calendar of Events
These are the confirmed 2013 events. We will keep you posted as new events are added.

FEBRUARY - Tubac Festival of the Arts, February 6 - 10, 2013. 10am to 5pm  

The major event of the year for Tubac showcases the work of hundreds of visiting artists, craft persons from around the country and Canada. The food court features a variety of cuisines.

 

MARCH - Spring ArtWalk - March 16 & 17, 2013 10am to 5pm   ArtWalk is an event that invites visitors to explore the local working artist studios and fine art galleries for which Tubac is renowned. Meet the artists and enjoy special exhibits, receptions and art demonstrations.  

 

JULY - Old Fashioned Fourth of July - July 4th, 2013, 10 am- 12 noon   Free Games, Food, Fire Engine "Squirt-down".

 

OCTOBER - Anza Days - October 19, 2013 . A Living History of the Indian, Mexican and Spanish Colonial Periods. Enjoy historical re-enactments, period costumes, folkloric dancers, mariachi music and children's activities.   

 

NOVEMBER - Tubac: An Art Experience, Nov 2 & 3, 2013, 10 am to 5 pm . Art Experience invites visitors to explore local working artist studios and the fine art galleries for which Tubac is renowned. Village streets feature artists' tents where the public can see the artists in action and view their works. Art demonstrations will be scheduled throughout the weekend.


DECEMBER - Dec. 6 & 7 2013 - Luminaria Nights - Fiesta de Navidad is Tubac's annual celebration of the Historical Season! The streets are lined with luminaries and the stores are open until 9 PM. Join us at sunset for great homemade food, music and Santa Claus!
