We believe a suicide- & drug-free Alaska is possible!

Each March, many inspiring Iditarod teams reenact the lifesaving race that carried the cure to diphtheria stricken Native Alaskans in the remote village of Nome back in 1925.

Today, delivering hope is no less essential for the youth of Alaska as they endure the heartbreaking norms of suicide, alcohol, addiction, and abuse that constantly inundate their lives. We know that hope is the love of Jesus Christ!

One of our favorite events each year is flying the non-profit Christian organization appropriately named Carry the Cure, along with the internationally known Native American musical group Broken Walls to minister to the youth throughout many remote Alaskan villages in conjunction with the famed annual Iditarod Trail sled dog race.

This highly-effective team is dedicated to the eradication of youth suicide and substance abuse, and they share our love for the youth of Alaska. Together we know that the unconditional love of Jesus Christ is the needed cure!

Once again we're asking for your prayers as we make advance preparations for this life-changing event in early March. Pray God will prepare the trail ahead of us and bless these combined ministry efforts.

You can help us Carry the Cure to seven remote Alaskan villages this winter.  Join in by making a financial donation to fund this trip and help give wings to Alaskan missions.

MARC Alaska:  the missionaries to missionaries!
Vehicle Maintenance in St. Michaels

Living in a village that is only accessible by sea or air, we learn to do without a few things. Not only does this adjustment apply to stuff, but sometimes when things like engine repair are beyond the abilities of anyone in town,  you just live with what you have. Until MARC comes into town.

This summer, a ministry team came to Saint Michael to bring encouragement and love to our village. They were brought by missionary pilots Mike Boettcher and Mark Swensen. I  was thrilled when the pilots offered to help repair our disabled 1994 Suburban and amazed when they displayed such a high degree of skill. They tuned it and gave us some maintenance tips. The even donated a new battery.

We felt so blessed to have the truck back on the road hauling oil and trash, bringing kids to school, and especially driving to the next village, which has no pastor. Now we can hold services in both places!

The challenge of driving with a smashed windshield seemed so small in contrast to the immense blessing of being able to get around, that I hardly thought about it until Mark called to tell me that one of the staff members was bringing a new windshield to us along with the tools so that he could replace it!

Drive across the island AND see the road? God is good; MARC is proof.
