March 30, 2012

aviation assets (State Police, National Guard, Civil Air Patrol).
  • An insurance adjuster who needs to validate a customer's disaster claim on his property.
  • A dispatcher who receives calls from citizens about aviation-generated uncertainty/
concerns re: flight operations, aircraft, and community safety.
  • A manager at a private firm that uses aviation resources.
  • A first responder who is called to an airplane accident, a search and rescue operation or
    wildfire situation.
  • A public agency employee who is dealing with an oil spill or effluent problem in a major waterway
  • A consulting engineer who needs to survey a large tract of land before submitting an environmental impact statement.
  • A public official who works in communities with an airport.

Team at laptop As more organizations -- both public and private -- begin accessing and interacting with aviation resources, several new specialties are emerging that will require different knowledge and skills than most personnel possess.

ASSIST-U.S.® is pleased to announce our new Aviation Special Missions Training Program (ASMTP), specifically designed for individuals in both the public and private sectors who foresee the need to enhance their awareness of aviation-related matters. Courses will be customized by audience and industry.

This edition of From the Flightline gives you a preview of coming attractions so you can begin to plan your organization's aviation education calendar for this year.

Sincerely,

Rick Bartle, CTO and Director of Aviation Operations
