From the director...
The evening with Margaritas at Marinitas was a big success, with many staff members, founders, community friends and alumnae parents joined together in a warm and welcoming private area in one of our favorite restaurants. We raised our glasses in a toast at the party to Lucie Alexander, the leader of the charge for our Transition Program, who is moving on from the Board after her second round of membership. Her first tenure on the Board of Directors was as founding member. We will definitely carry on her work in helping families tackle the big questions of life after graduation, so you will be hearing more about discussion groups, guest speakers, job coaching, and other transition related topics.

The next morning we changed from party clothes to silly outfits for our Halloween festivities. Every year we have an after lunch DANCE, where we all kick up our heels and give our funny hats a whirl in the multi-purpose room. Our amazingly uninhibited kids are joyful dancers as they rock out with familiar beats. We had clowns, movie heroes, skeletons and ghosts. Check some examples below.

The Harvest Dinner was a Great!
The turnout was significant for our annual family supper event here at school. No dancing this time, but great food and lots of community conversation in a lovely space organized and seasonally decorated by event organizer Arriel Adler. Staff members enjoyed leftovers the next day - Thanks to all.

Congratulations to Allison Arons, MFT!
The many hours and two final passed certification exams are now behind Oak Hill Therapist Allison Arons MFT: she is no longer an intern! Arriving at school on Thursday morning after we got the news, Allison and the canine "Larrapist" (Larry the dog) got a big round of applause. Here Michael Breard is with her in the official congratulatory photograph. Allison started at Oak Hill seven years ago as a teaching assistant while getting her Master's Degree. She then completed her hours here, supervised by Liz McDonough MFT. We are very lucky to have her at Oak Hill.

Oak Hill Receives STEP UP TO THE PLATE FOR EDUCATION Grant
KNBR and Wells Fargo teamed up with Baseball player Brandon Crawford to offer $100,000 in grants to local youth education programs. Former Oak Hill Board Chair Connie Tabas tipped Joy about it; we applied for help funding our Youth in Arts Program, and on Thursday morning we got the news that we were awarded a grant in the sum of $5000.00. They will give us a check at a ceremony at AT&T Park on December 11th. Fun!
