Scenes from Oak Hill

Congratulations to All!x

The last week of school year 2012-13 closed with an all school picnic at McNear's Beach on Wednesday, and a Step-Up Day Gathering with all students on Thursday.

Brett congratulates Hannah Sherwood on her move to Oak Hill Prep.

The student celebration was followed after the kids went home with an all- staff lunch, and  thank you gift dedications from designated Oak Hill colleagues for each of the four departing staff members present. Champagne toasts kicked off the afternoon event. Friday's work day capped the week with busy preparations throughout campus for the return of our Oak Hill stars on July 9th.

Those  honored Thursday included Tin Fan, Jenny Ripley, Elena Romero De Giacomo and Kevin Skidmore. These four dedicated professionals are each moving on to new opportunities in the field of autism and we send them off with warm wishes and appreciation for their effort and expertise gifted to Oak Hill during their stay. On Wednesday we said our goodbyes to Russell Caughey, Oak Hill Prep assistant teacher and computer programming instructor. Russ will now be a full-time graduate student in Technology Education. Occupational Therapist Mia Leonard is returning to her private practice. Her OT colleagues, Michelle Rossi and Mele Perera, will take on the full-time staffing of our OT department

All parents can expect to get the latest class staffing updates before the start of Extended Session on July 9th. Teaching assignments and student placements have been made, and we are looking forward to the summer with a full cadre of familiar faces. You will be hearing soon about our two new faces: Willows class teacher and six-year autism veteran Jessica Grist, and speech and language pathologist Amy Eibel. In addition, we are delighted to welcome back Oak Hill vet Jill Nakagawa for the summer to lead the Laurel classroom.

Communication  at Oak Hill is not always verbal...

It can be drummed as Seth and Ian sometimes do...

And it can be felt.
Will and Alex appreciate  Diane Bradley.

Thank You for school year 2012-13
from all of us at Oak Hill School!
