Are You Sprinting Towards A Summer Move? And Stressing About How Your Pet Will Cope?

Many transferees relocate in the summer, the most hectic travel season of the year. If you haven't yet made plans for your pet's move, pause now to think about what your furry friend will need for the most stress-free relocation. This issue gives some insight on what to consider when moving larger breeds, what shipping kennels can hold, and how some pets are affected by the heat embargo imposed by certain airlines.

This is just one customer's comments, but we know it's how many of you feel, "Moving a pet, especially from literally the other side of the world, is an incredibly stressful experience - for pet and owner alike." Whether it's a coast-to-coast or continent-to-continent move, the concerns for a pet's well-being are the same. We're here to help navigate your pet's safe journey. That same customer added, "The service and reassurance that you provided reduced that anxiety enormously, and the speed and ease with which you handled the . . . logistical aspects . . . really made things much easier than anticipated."

Pets-on-the-Move FAQs

What should I place in my pet's kennel for the flight?

When your pet flies, you will need to avoid placing items inside the kennel that can become dangerous during flight. But we do recommend a soothing blanket and moisture magnets to improve your pet's comfort.

After choosing an airline-approved kennel and helping your pet become acclimated to it, you will need to ready the carrier for your pet's flight. Kennels for airline travel must have the food and water cups that attach to the metal gate door. You should provide us with 4-6 oz. of your pet's favorite food in a plastic zip-lock baggie. This will be placed in the food cup prior to the flight.

REUNITED!

Zoey Jets to Beijing

Sweet Zoey left the shores of California heading for mainland China, but had a few delays along the way. Her pet parents first needed to get their residency settled. Just as Zoey was about to arrive in Beijing, we learned about a prohibition on the usual methods of travel for pets, due to a Communist Convention.
