Well folks, it's November again! Thanksgiving is coming quickly! A I read a fitting quote for this month by WT Purkiser that says, "Not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them, is the true measure of our thanksgiving". "Thanksgiving, after all, is a word of action", says W.J. Cameron. In truth, we cannot truly be grateful for what we have been blessed with if we do not steward and dispense it with care. If we squander carelessly what is in our hands, how can we turn and say that we are grateful? To say with our lips that we are thankful, but with our actions turn and consume that which is in our possession without a thought of where "the more" will come from, is not thankfulness at all. Additionally, the value we place on the things we've poured over, worked for, seems to be much greater than the value we place on the things we've obtained easily. Maybe this is why our relationships mean so much to us. Our hearts are connected more deeply to the people/things into which we've put forth the most effort and time. Wouldn't you agree? Let's take a moment this holiday season to truly look at ourselves and ask, "Am I truly grateful? Does it show in my actions?". And let us not forget to thank the Lord at all times for all that He he has placed in our hands; asking Him to help us to steward it wisely. Ephesians 5: 20 says we must "give thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ". We want you to know that you are important to us! We know our patient family counts on us, and we count on you, too. Relationships make life worth while, and we appreciate our relationship with you! Have a blessed Thanksgiving! |

Alzheimer's Help
Alzheimer's Awareness Month is here and we've included a variety of resource links to help you and your family cope with the signs and symptoms of aging and mental decline. Alzheimer's disease is an irreversible, progressive brain disease that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills, and eventually even the ability to carry out the simplest tasks. In most people with Alzheimer's, symptoms first appear after age 60. Estimates vary, but experts suggest that as many as 5.1 million Americans may have Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia among older people. Dementia is the loss of cognitive functioning-thinking, remembering, and reasoning-and behavioral abilities, to such an extent that it interferes with a person's daily life and activities. Dementia ranges in severity from the mildest stage, when it is just beginning to affect a person's functioning, to the most severe stage, when the person must depend completely on others for basic activities of daily living.
