American Fidelity Presents Health Care Reform Webinar

The Free Rider Penalty regulations under Health Care Reform have created many questions for employers. To help provide answers, American Fidelity Assurance Company is pleased to announce a webinar that will focus on frequently asked employer questions relating to the Free Rider Penalty, while also providing participants the opportunity to ask questions during the live webinar.

In addition, guidance on the recently delayed IRS reporting is anticipated by the end of summer.  If it is published in time, we will also include a summary of the employer reporting obligations during the webinar.

Because of our association partnership with American Fidelity, we have been able to secure reduced customer pricing of $50 for our members, regardless if you have American Fidelity products or services in your group.

Date: August 23, 2013

Time: 11:00 am to 12:00 p.m. Eastern

EEOC Report Due Sept. 30 for Businesses with More Than 100 Employees

Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) reports (form EEO -1) are required to be submitted by employers who have 100 or more employees, and employers who employ a total of 100 or more employees from "affiliated entities."  The report must be generated from data collected during any pay period between July and September 2013.  The data must include all full-time and part-time employees.  These reports are due to the EEOC no later than September 30, 2013.

Affiliated Entities

Entities are considered "affiliated" if they have centralized ownership, control or management.

Even if each location or business operation is a separate corporation or business for tax and other purposes, they will still be considered

affiliated entities if there is common ownership or control.

Multi-establishment employers must file the following multiple reports:

1) A report for the principal or headquarters office;

2) A report for each individual location which employs more than 50 persons;

3) A consolidated report covering all locations and entities, including those with fewer than 50 employees; and

4) A list showing the name, address, total number of employees, and the major activity for each location (i.e., the type of product manufactured or sold or the type of service provided). This information must accompany the consolidated report.

Purpose of the Report

The information gathered in this report is primarily used for statistical purposes to measure the hiring practices of women and minorities, and eliminate employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex or national origin in private industry.

The information is also used in investigating employment discrimination allegations and the enforcement of federal anti-discrimination laws.

Penalties for Non-Compliance

In the event of a complaint of discrimination or harassment, either the EEOC or a local agency considering the complaint will review the reports to aid in a determination of the validity of the complaint. Detailed instructions and the forms are available at the EEOC Web site at www.eeoc.gov.

Presenter:  Christine Andrews & Rob Campbell of The Mironov Group

Cost:  $149.00 per person

Being an effective and valuable dealership controller requires a lot more management skill than just being able to put together the monthly statement!

Christine Andrews and Rob Campbell will catalog for you the habits and practices of the very best dealership CFOs and tell you how you can learn from their success.

 You Will Learn:

  • How to nurture a top-notch staff to assist managing the dealership finances
  • How to hone and sharpen your knowledge base
  • How to demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels
  • How to help the dealership earn more profit by supporting and assisting every member of the management team toward that goal.

Date:  Thursday, August 29, 1pm Eastern

Presenter:  Jeff Sacks

Cost:  $149.00 per person

This session is focused on the Jeff Sacks List of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) that will let dealers, GMs and individual managers know at a glance if they are on target and if their efforts are contributing to success.

Knowing what meaningful data you need to run your business is an important skill...but it often becomes too much to deal with on a daily basis. The complexity can hide the obvious areas needing attention.

Jeff is a master as well as a practitioner of this art and, via this Webinar, he will share with you a series of KPIs that will cover every department in the dealership, as well as the dealership as a whole.

This webinar will cover the following materials:

  • The KPI of Personnel Productivity - What to measure, chart and compare
  • The ratios and measurements of Profitability - by department and for the whole store
  • The KPI of Internet Effectiveness - breaking down the numbers so you know what is working...and not!
  • How to create a KPI Dashboard that will tell you at a glance how you are doing
