Giving Back to the Community

Philanthropy comes in all sorts of forms with each person giving according to his or her passion and purpose. Debra Jenkins, co-founder of Merrimack Halls, shares her "giving story" below.

Why I Give by Debra Jenkins

Debra and Alan Jenkin's story will be featured in an upcoming Hollywood production, Dreaming with Your Feet, which will spotlight Merrimack's arts program for special-needs children and adults. Mark C. Smith Conference Center - ADTRAN

8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The only event of its kind in Alabama, the Summit on Philanthropy is designed to assist you with your giving.

How can you make the greatest charitable impact
while securing the most significant tax advantages?

CPAs, Financial Advisors, Wealth Managers, and Attorneys . . . this is for you!

The Community Foundation can assist you in helping your clients with their charitable giving.  Let us show you how.

Our Board of Directors recently adopted a policy to allow donors, with accounts as low as $25,000, to use their own external fund managers when  they establish funds with the Community Foundation.

Brian Jones, financial advisor at Wells Fargo, serves as an external fund manager with the Community Foundation, "This month, we are celebrating the one-year anniversary of my client's fund at the Community Foundation.  I have been able to maintain the relationship that I've developed with my client over the years.  The Community Foundation has been able to partner with us to facilitate my client's charitable giving.  The result has been positive for my client and positive for the community."

When you partner with the Community Foundation, you stay in control of your client relationships.  We provide the resources and expertise to help you give your clients charitable-giving options tailored to their needs.  Your clients receive the maximum tax benefits for their charitable gifts and include their families in a permanent philanthropic legacy.  You can continue to maintain the relationships you have developed over the years.

You understand your clients' charitable goals. The Community Foundation of Huntsville/Madison County has the tools and resources to make the philanthropic process simple, flexible and efficient. Together, we can help your clients give in the most effective and efficient ways.
