Disposal of Latex Paint

The City of Rockford Household Hazardous Waste site, 3333 Kishawaukee St., no longer will accept latex paint due to its non-hazardous nature. The Illinois EPA recommends that latex paints be allowed to air-dry in the can by leaving the lid off or solidfied by adding absorbents such as oil dry and cat litter to the remaining contents. Upon rendering the paint into a non-liquid state, it may be disposed of with general household trash. For more recycling resources go to www.ci.rockford.il.us and www.knib.org.

G-Fees Removed from Package

Thanks to over 45% of the members of the Rockford Area REALTORS for letting their voice be heard, President Obama signed into law the Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act "without" a provision which would have used g-fees as a financing mechanism. Final legislation completely removed g-fees after a successful NAR campaign to remove them as a pay-for in surface transportation projects.

Real Estate Related Provisions in Recent Legislation

Sweeping Legislation, of more than two-thousand pages, has been signed that will fund the Federal Government Fiscal Year 2016. To view the NAR Issue Brief that contains real estate related provisions, click here.

NAR Realtor Action Center Log In Change

NAR is updating their log in pages for the  Realtor Action Center to change usernames of members to NRDS IDs over the old method of needing an e-mail address to log in. This change will not affect passwords, just usernames. If you have forgotten your NRDS #, you can do a look-up prior to logging in.

From city hall to the state house to the U.S. Capitol, our elected officials are making decisions that have a huge impact on the bottom line of REALTORS® and their customers. The REALTOR Action Center is your go-to place to keep on top of what is going on in terms of legislation that could impact your business.
