Business Luncheon Changes are Happening- Part II
Thursday, April 2Dr. Ehren Jarrett, Superintendent of the Rockford Public Schools, gave a lot of great information in regards to the changes that are happening in our school district. Monies Available for You and Your Children
The deadline to apply for REEF scholarships is April 1st. These scholarships provide financial support to talented college students and real estate professionals. Since 2000, REEF has awarded scholarships totaling over $458,000. Learn more about these scholarships at http://www.ilreef.org/
In addition to the REEF scholarships, the Rockford Area REALTORS offers up to 10 $100 Education scholarships to be used towards an NAR Designation or Certification course. The deadline to submit your application is March 31, 2015.

Capitol Conference REALTORS across the state will be showing the "power of R" on Tuesday, April 14 at the Annual Capitol Conference & Lobby Day in Springfield. Talk directly to our legislators about issues that affect the real estate industry. HUD-1 To Soon Go Away
Effective August 1st, new forms from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau will replace the HUD-1 and Good Faith Estimate and change the way you close sales. Become familiar with the concept by watching the NAR video below. The Rockford Area REALTORS is developing a training schedule to assist members with the transition. Illinois Eavesdropping Law Expanded How it Affects the Real Estate Agent
As of December 31, 2014, the Illinois Eavesdropping Law expanded to say, "audio recording requires the consent of parties to a conversation when there is an expectation of privacy. In summary, what this means is if you are representing the sellers, get consent or post a notice stating recording will take place. IHDA Offers New Program
The Illinois Housing Develoment Authority (IDHA) now offers @HomeIllinois, a new loan product for first-time Illinois homebuyers, homeowners looking to refinance (for the first time in IHDA history), and repeat buyers looking to move up. The @HomeIlliois program features a 30-year fixed rate mortgage and up to $5,000 in down payment or closing cost assistance. Click here to learn more.

Homebuyer Assistance Workshops
Wednesday, March 25
The City of Rockford Community & Economic Development department is hosting two free information workshops regarding Homebuyer Assistance, Assistance to repair homes and real estate tax rebates. There will be two different sessions offered, one for REALTORS and lenders and one for the community. Lenders and REALTORS - Wednesday, March 25th 12:00 pm Buyers and homeowners - Wednesday, March 25th 5:45 pm Location: City Hall, 425 E. State Street, 2nd Floor, Chambers Space is limited.
