 Business Luncheon Thursday, February 26There are a lot of exciting things happening in the Rockford School District. On Thursday, February 26, Dr. Ehren Jarrett, Superintendent of the Rockford Public Schools, will be the guest speaker at the Rockford Area REALTORS Business Luncheon being held at the Radisson. Dr. Jarrett will give an update on the Rockford Public Schools Facilities Plan, his role in the White House College Summit, the rational to keep the tax levy flat and much more. 2015 REALTOR of the Year will be announced. Watch for Your WHITE Postcard
IDFPR will be sending the renewal cards this week to licensees who hold Managing Broker licenses. The card will have your PIN number on it - don't lose it! You will need it when you renew online at www.idfpr.com/dpr/renewal. The renewal fee is $200 if paid before 4/30/2015. Rockford Area REALTORS Receives All Star Award Again For the second year in a row, the Rockford Area REALTORS  received the All Star Award from its communication vendor, Constant Contact. This recognition is awarded to the top 10% of its 600,000 small organizations worldwide, with only 65% of previous winners becoming multiple-year recipients. Read more.

Property Rehab Assistance
Eligible homebuyers can receive between $3,000 - $5,000 for down payment and closing cost assistance and up to $20,000 to rehabilitate an owner occupied property. Additional grant funds for the acquisition and rehabilitation may be available from the City of Rockford. Click here to learn more.

Winnebago Co. Filing Fee Changes
Effective March 1, 2015 filing fee increases will be implemented. In addition, processes have been changed in how the County handles excess monies received. To assist you in determining the appropriate fees, please refer to the Recorders Website at

How Important is a Photo to a Listing?
According to a recent survey by Trulia, 86% of home seekers find photos to be the most useful feature when it comes to real estate  and 84% said they would not even consider buying a photo-less listing. Based on these statistics alone, it's obvious that listing photography is one of the most powerful tools you will ever have when marketing a home for sale. Remodeling Projects on the Rise
According to the new Remodeling Trend Report, from Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies, home improvement projects are on the rise and could potentially reach record-level spending this year. Remodeling spending climbed to nearly $300 billion in 2013 as seen on this infographic from the center.

RPS Implements Electronic Visitor System When visiting your children's or grandchildren's school you will now find yourself being asked for a state photo ID if needing access further than the main office.
