IDFPR Runs Audit

The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), the governing body that holds your real estate license has recently run an audit on their records. A very lengthy list of licensees was generated and those on the list were sent deficiency letters for the renewal period of 2012. If you were one of those people and you need copies of your CE education records, you may contact education@iar.org. The Illinois Association of REALTORS only holds records for those who utilized the IAR/RAR school.

It is recommended that students of the IAR/RAR school print their transcripts prior to mailing in their renewal applications and keep a copy in their file for this reason. Transcripts can be found by clicking on the magnifying glass on the LAMPS landing page.

Member Earns REALTOR Emeritus

The National Association recognizes its members when they have provided real estate service to the real estate industry for forty years. To earn the REALTOR Emeritus designation is truly an honor and exemplifies and signifies prominence in the real estate industry. For one to possess the commitment, the dedication and the allegiance to a trade is becoming more and more obsolete in today's world. Joe Graciana was recognized at the May Business luncheon as the most current inductee into this prestigious group. Congratulations, Joe!

Buyer's Assume Oct-13 Rate

Effective May 1, 2014, all buyers of older properties ("pre-FIRM") will see a premium rate reduction under the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act of 2014. Instead of jumping to "full-cost" for flood insurance, buyers will assume the seller's Oct-2013 rate for a pre-FIRM property. NAR prevailed upon FEMA to implement this provision seven months early and will continue working with them and Congress to quickly issue the refunds to anyone overcharged for flood insurance under Biggert-Waters. Read more.

____________

QUESTION OF THE MONTH
?
Q. Do both sender and receiver need to be users of Instanet for it to work effectively?
A. No. A finalized Authentisigned document is and can be treated just like a PDF. It is a very secure, third party verified PDF. Once a signing is complete the broker can forward that PDF to a co-operating broker to be used to get signatures however they would like.
