RPAC Fundraiser Huge Success  Over 200 members and guests attended the Dudes Darlins and Denim RPAC Round-Up on May 22nd at the Prairie Street Brewhouse. The event was a huge success raising over $14,300 for RPAC. A huge thank you goes out to everyone that attended and certainly to all of the event sponsors whose generosity made it all possible. NAR/Fannie Mae Short Sale Webinar

Membership Meeting By Petition
There will be a Rockford Area REALTORS General Membership meeting, requested by petition, on Monday, June 17th, from 2:00-3:30pm at the NIU- Rockford Auditorium, 8500 East State Street, Rockford.
The purpose of this meeting is to openly discuss our MLS decisions. There will be two motions that are both recommendations to the Rockford Area REALTORS Board of Directors. One is on the MLS Vendor and the other is on Commercial MLS. Both votes will be conducted by secret ballot.

Raise the Roof Press Conference
 On Wednesday, May 29th, Steve Bois, Executive Officer of the Rockford Area REALTORS announced the Association's involvement in an annual event, an altruistic collaboration of businesses and individuals, with proceeds going to a civic organization that is bettering Rockford. On Saturday, August 24th, 2013, the Rockford Area REALTORS will be hosting the first Annual Raise the Roof event with proceeds being applied to restoring the roof of the Laurent House, the only handicapped accessible home designed by America's most famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright.  The progressive event will begin at the Coronado Performing Arts Center and include touring the rooftops of four different downtown buildings. Tickets are $100, attendance limited to 400 persons. Managing Brokers Can Now Exchange Licenses
Due to Senate Bill 1655, Managing Brokers can now exchange their Managing Broker License to a Broker License if they prefer. In the previous License Law Rewrite, there was not a provision that allowed one to do so without having to take prelicense classes all over again.

New 15-Hour Licensing Webinars
The new 15-hour interactive webinar now being offered by the IAR Licensing and Training Center will complete the training requirement needed for the pre-license Broker course, the post-license Broker course and the Managing Broker pre-license course. Regardless of where you completed your initial pre-license training, you may take these interactive webinar courses to prepare you for the state exam if the course you completed requires taking that exam. Hands Free Cell Phones Only
House Bill 1247 that was approved in the Spring Session, if signed by the Governor, will ban the use of hand-held cell phones while driving beginning January 1, 2014. A cell phone can be used in your vehicle if it is equipped with a hands free device. Top of Page
