Free Community Viewing of Screenagers Documentary
The PV-PTO invites all PVSD parents, staff and community members to come see "SCREENAGERS: Growing Up in the Digital Age" on Friday, May 5 in the Corte Madera MUR.
Limited space. Reserve your tickets now at Eventbrite.
Screenagers is a recently released documentary gaining national attention which explores how tech time impacts kids' development and also offers solutions on how adults can empower their kids to best navigate the digital world to find balance. Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston saw what was happening with her own kids and began a quest to uncover how their use of technology might impact their development. As with her other two award-winning documentaries on mental health, Ruston takes a deeply personal approach as she probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including her own, to explore struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction. Read more at: www.screenagersmovie.comThis film is being presented as one point of view on a complex issue, with hope to inspire thoughtful conversation within our school community and in our homes. There will be a brief facilitated discussion after the movie to share initial reactions to the material. Middle school students and older are welcome to attend with their parents. Limited seating is available, so be sure to reserve your tickets online.Questions? Contact Karyn Bechtel, karynadam@yahoo.com or 650-529-1694.
