Support the Windmill Wave!
|
|
Windmill School, a 60-year old Portola Valley institution, needs your help to secure its future in our community. To help raise the construction funds for the Windmill Preschool and Family Education Center at 900 Portola Road, Windmill kids are holding Windmill Lemonade Stands on:
●Sat., April 23rd-outside Robert's Market (11am to 4pm)
●Sun., April 24th-outside Robert's Market (11am to 4pm)
●Fri., April 29th - at Alpine Hills (back deck) (5pm to 7pm)
How You Can Help:
- Visit our lemonade stands to learn more and support our kids as they raise money!
- Donate to the campaign: all funds received between now and May 6th will count as "Lemonade Stand" funds and will allow the kids to feel like they've really helped build a new school. To donate, please visit: http://www.windmillschool.com/ and click "Donate."
Generous families have already provided $225,000 in donations for the lemonade stands; our goal is to raise $1M by May 6th towards the construction of the School! Please contact Monika Cheney or Karen Tate for larger donations ( mgc@gruter.org or karentate@sbcglobal.net).
We are extraordinarily grateful to the families who are helping make this project possible! Please join their ranks as we raise the second half of our construction funds! Come ride the Windmill Wave with us!

Creative Art for Young Children
|
|
SPRING 2016 @ Portola Valley Town Center APRIL 13-JUNE 11 Spring Fever fills our hearts with love! For this session we will learn about what inspires artists to create! Things that interest them... things that they love. We will mix colors and find out what colors we love best. Next, we study Money and his love of trains and gardens, then draw and paint them. A frog from Money's garden will find a place in our Frog Pop-Up Pictures and we will draw cartoons like the caricatures he drew of his classmates when he was a young boy. After that, we move on to Heart Art and make Giant Stuffed Hearts individually constructed to form a variety of images such as butterflies and fishes. Then, more hearts... Wire Hearts and Puffy Heart Collages. And our earth clay will become whatever our hearts desire. Of course, we will end with our traditional art show and see how the kids come up with some new ideas for its execution.
