Celebrate Your Child's Creativity 


PV-PTO has teamed up with Original Works, a nation-wide art-based program, to offer this special opportunity to order memorable gifts for any occasion, and support the PV-PTO at the same time!
 
This year we are using Original Works online gallery ordering system. Each student will bring home a letter with instructions on how to view their personal online gallery and place orders 

Be on the look out for your informational letters this week at both ORM and CMS! Deadline for ORM and CMS orders is MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16 to ensure timely delivery for the holidays. 
  
Girl Scout Information Event 


Is your daughter interested in Girl Scouts? 

Come to a parent information meeting at the Encinal Elementary School Library (195 Encinal Avenue, Atherton) on Tuesday, October 27th from 6:30pm-7:30pm.   Kindergarten and first grade girls can become Daisy scouts while second and third grade girls can become Brownies.  Troops will be forming at many area schools.  Parents of girls all ages are encouraged to attend.

PV Basketball Winter 2015/16 
 
The Portola Valley PTO is excited for another Portola Valley Basketball season, the recreational basketball program for K-5th graders open to all Portola Valley residents.
  The PVB program will offer the following for each grade level:  
 
Clinics
  • Kindergarten (Coed)

Competitive Play
  • 2nd/3rd Grade Girls

Registration begins on October 12th and ends on November 1st.

Turkey Trot 
 
Turkey Trot Registration is Now Open
 
The Ormondale Turkey Trot (1K and 5K run/walk/relay) will be held on Saturday, November 14th from
8:00-11:00.  Rain or Shine! Kids love this event. Parents and siblings can run too. The Turkey Trot is a family event for our community that promotes health and introduces children to athletic competition in a friendly spirit.

1K run/walk: This race is for grades K-3 only. No adults, no bikes, no scooters. The course is an "out and back" from Ormondale School to Cervantes (via Shawnee Pass)
 
5K run/walk: This race is for all grades and adults. No bikes or scooters. The course starts at Ormondale, makes 4 laps around the Shawnee Pass/Cervantes loop, and ends at Ormondale (each lap is about 0.8 miles).
 
5K Relay: This event is for all grades and adults. No bikes or scooters. The course is 4 laps around the Shawnee Pass/Cervantes loop, one lap per team member (each lap is about 0.8 miles). Create a team of 4 individuals of any age or gender, any combination of your choosing. Have fun and come in costume! Awards to the teams with the most team spirit! Kids running in the 1K might also enjoy participating in this event with their friends or family. NOTE: THIS EVENT IS RACE DAY REGISTRATION ONLY. Cost will be $20 per team.
 
Tiny Tots Race: This race is for Pre-K kids only. It provides a chance for little brothers and sisters to participate too. No registration required.
 
 
Third Grade Hosts Super Staff Lunch

The Ormondale staff enjoyed a delicious lunch on Wednesday thanks to Darci Reimund, lunch coordinator extraordinaire, and her crew of amazing volunteers.  We are so appreciative of Darci and her team of wonderful parents: Susan Silberman, Stephanie Bisgaard, Liz Poggi, Sally Aalfs, Bira Feldman, Sarah Wernikoff, Carrie Davis, Jen Hanley, Kelly Richardson, Kim Zamboldi, Irene Ruiz, Brooke Coffee, Megan Michael, May Chen, Veronica Jerng, Jami Worthington, Cathy Brewer, Bree Zachary, Karen Tate, Allison Kroeger, Moonyi Satusky, and Aimee Armsby.

 Camp W  


The magic of Camp W is ready to start in January. Step inside the winter performing arts camps and join the other campers to be part of the annual show, Follies, which will take place on April 29 and 30, 2016.

By registering your child, their experience at camp will be enhanced: collaborate with other friends, learn about the important aspects to performing arts, play musical games, win raffle prizes, eat tasty snacks, acquire camp t-shirts, participate in two lively parties, and have the opportunity to create and participate in the show of the year.
