Turkey Trot Artwork & Lunchtime Training

Turkey Trot Artwork Contest & Lunchtime Training

The Ormondale Turkey Trot (1K and 5K run/walk/relay) will be held on Saturday, November 14th from 8:00-11:00.

Artwork forms were sent out from school this week. More blank forms are in the school office. Four students (one from each grade K-3) will have their artwork featured in color on Turkey Trot posters, which will be placed around the school to promote the event. Winning artists will also receive a $25 gift certificate to Kepler's Books in Menlo Park. After the Turkey Trot, the winning artists will get to keep their poster as a memento. Please submit artwork to the Turkey Trot box in the Ormondale school office by Friday, October 16th.

Lunchtime training starts Tuesday, October 13. Every Tuesday and Thursday, during lunchtime recess, grades 1-3 will have an opportunity to run laps around the field. We still need parent volunteers (12:15-12:50PM) to help keep track of laps completed. Contact Karen Urbanek ([email protected]) if you can help!

Camp W Registration Opens Oct 15th

The magic of Camp W is ready to start in January. Step inside the winter performing arts camps and join the other campers to be part of the annual show, Follies, which will take place on April 29 and 30, 2016.

By registering your child, their experience at camp will be enhanced: collaborate with other friends, learn about the important aspects to performing arts, play musical games, win raffle prizes, eat tasty snacks, acquire camp t-shirts, participate in two lively parties, and have the opportunity to create and participate in the show of the year.

4th - 5th grade

Wednesday 3:30 - 5:00

6th - 8th grade

CMS STEM Fair Call for Judges

That time of the year is just around the corner! The CMS STEM Fair is on January 7th, 2016. That's the first Thursday evening after we return from Winter Break. We need three parents to judge grades 6, 7 and 8. (Parents cannot judge a grade in which they have a child). Judges will need to spend about an hour reviewing the projects, asking students questions, and informing the organizers (Mrs. Oliver and Mr. Shapland) of their top candidates to move on to the San Mateo County STEM Fair. Come out and see the next generation of great engineers, tinkerers and scientists!
