Books, Burgers, Bagels and Blue Bottle Coffee
| |
It has been a bumper week at Ormondale. Sarah Byrne and Caitlin Kortlang are the parents who run our PVSD Book Fair. Thank you so much for the planning and coordination behind the scenes, and for transforming the MUR into book paradise! Between the CMS Guest Author, Michael Northrop, Popsicle Preview, Tuesday night Food Truck and the amazing selection of books in the MUR, this team of super volunteers went above and beyond. Thank you to Anngi Strick, Brooke Day, Camilla Lynch, Cate Styer, Erin Sanders, Ginny Borelli, Hilary Harmssen, Hayley Leinfelder, Jennifer Hanley, Katherine Gilpin, Monika Cheney, Sarah Wernikoff, Stephanie Laila Tuxen Bisgaard, Moonyi Satusky and Susan McLaughlin for giving us your time and energy this week and for making this event such a successful fundraiser for our two libraries. And, what better way to end the Book Fair week than with a Dads' Bagel Breakfast? Thank you Ali Cooper, Anngi Strick, Amanda Smoot and our generous purveyors of Blue Bottle Coffee - Neil and Brooke Day. The breakfast was wildly popular and everyone was thrilled with the delicious coffee! Thank you, Everyone. We are so fortunate to be a part of this great school community.

Turkey Trot Artwork Contest
| |
The Ormondale Turkey Trot
(1K and 5K run/walk/relay)
will be held on Saturday, November 14th from 8:00-11:00. Kids love this event! Parents and siblings can run too.
The Turkey Trot is a family event for our community that promotes health and introduces children to athletic competition in a friendly spirit.
This year, four students (one from each grade K-3) will have their artwork featured in color on Turkey Trot posters, which will be placed around the school to promote the event. Winning artists will also receive a $25 gift certificate to Kepler's Books in Menlo Park. After the Turkey Trot, the winning artists will get to keep their poster as a memento. Students will be bringing home a form for the Turkey Trot Artwork Contest in their homework folders. Please submit artwork to the Turkey Trot box in the Ormondale school office by Friday, October 16th.
Stay tuned for instructions on how to register for this event. Contact Karen Urbanek (urbanek.karen@gmail.com) if you have questions.
