AHS STUDENT BULLETIN

The PFC provides this weekly Student Bulletin as a service to our school community, but we do not generate the contents. All questions regarding the announcements below should be directed to Janice Cohen, the Activity and Athletic Secretary. She can be reached via email or by phone at 818-889-1262 ext. 231.

ACADEMICS
Students who Wish to Enter English II Honors, English III AP or English IV AP must attend the mandatory informational meeting today, April 12th, at lunch in Mrs. Hollister's room, C-7. Information will be given at that time regarding the waiver test and other program requirements. 
 
ACTIVITIES
Do you Like Krispy Kreme?
Do you have any used homecoming or prom dresses that you don't wear anymore?
If so, come to the Main Quad in front of the L Building during nutrition on Wednesday, April 13th and Fri, April 15th to help out the entrepreneur small business class company, Dress the Night, a dress rental company..."It's wear you get it". With every dress donated, you will receive two free donuts. Don't have a dress to donate; you can purchase a donut for $1 each.
 

Hey Guys! Remember to head down to the G Building on Saturday, April 16th to watch a showing of Jurassic World!
Show times are 6:00 and 9:00pm, and presale tickets will be sold at lunch through this Friday, April 15th in front of room C-8. Ticket prices are $8.00 with ASB and $10.00 without. Food will be provided at the event by the Lobos Food Truck, and with your ticket purchase, you will also receive a pair of complimentary 3D glasses! This event is being brought to the school by In Sight Lenses, a company dedicated to bettering the quality of life for children in developing countries. All proceeds will go to accomplishing their ultimate goal; enlightening people with the gift of sight. So make sure to come to the G Building on Saturday, April 16th at 6:00 and 9:00pm for an amazing time!
 
 
Our Spring Musical Once Upon a Mattress
is Fast Approaching!
Come and support your theatre program and witness this incredible production. The show will run April 26 - April 30, 2016 in the PAEC. Tickets are available on
www.thepaecs.org. Hope to see you there.        
ATHLETICS
Boys Tennis is Enjoying a Fantastic Season! Come to their home match vs Westlake this Thursday, April 14th, for Power Plant ice cream. Ice cream is free if you wear a Power Plant t-shirt and $1 without. You also get 10 spirit points for coming out to the game. See you Thursday.

AHS Athletic Physicals and Clearance Days:   Agoura High School Athletic Physicals/Clearances for the 2016-17 school year will be held at Exer Urgent Care in Calabasas on Saturday, May 21 and Saturday, June 4. The cost is $50 per exam and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Agoura High School Athletic Department.  Please see the attached flier for detailed information.

SENIORS
Senior Information Meeting:
A meeting will be held today, April 12th during 3rd period in the PAEC. This meeting is mandatory for all seniors who wish to participate in senior activities, including Prom, Magic Mountain and the Senior Brunch/Picnic. Please report to your 3rd period class before going to the PAEC.


Senior Activities:
Lists are posted outside of the AAC and in the Main Quad of what activities seniors have purchased. PLEASE, PLEASE check the lists. You DO NOT want to be left out! May 6th is the deadline to purchase all senior activities as well as any extra graduation tickets. As a reminder, all seniors who take the Senior Survey will receive four complimentary tickets to the Graduation Ceremony.


The Senior Survey will be available
April 25 - May 13, 2016.

All seniors are required to completely fill out the survey. In addition, all seniors who will be attending a two or four year college/university must complete the "Colleges I'm Applying to" section in Naviance (found under the Colleges tab and available now).


Senior Prom will be on May 21st at the Fess Parker Doubletree Hotel in Santa Barbara. Tickets are $90 per person and can be purchased on the Webstore through May 6th. In person ticket sales will be in the AAC from April 25th through May 6th. Transportation will be provided for those who are interested. If you wish to use the school provided transportation, you must make a reservation at the AAC no later than May 6th.

GRADNITE is Almost Here!
If you want to see yourself in the personalized displays at the event, please in your pictures NOW! The pictures can be from anywhere (School, sports, vacations, etc.) or from any year (elementary to high school) as long as there are ONLY SENIORS in the pictures. No family pictures, no group shots with non-seniors.
 
    
Please send in 4X6 pictures to the GRADNITE box in the Main Office! (If it is a big group shot, 5X7 or 8X10 pictures are okay.)

Please write your name on the back!

You will not get these pictures back, so make copies!

You can turn in as many as you'd like - the more you submit, the more YOU will be featured at GRADNITE.

College Banners and Diploma Frames are now available for purchase.
A professionally printed banner featuring your child's name and college they plan to attend will be hung on the fencing of the stadium proudly for everyone to see. SERVICE LEARNING
All students! Once you have completed your 15 hour per year requirement, you can apply for the SERVICE LEARNING AWARDS for any additional hours. These applications are due in room C-1 by the deadlines set for each grade. If you have any questions, please come to C-1 to talk to Mrs. Diament or Ms. Capretta.

Malibu Cars and Coffee is held the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month from 7:00am- 10:00am at the Malibu Bluffs Park. Assist with directing cars in the parking lot, set up and clean up. Click here for more information.

White Oak Elementary School is having their "Family Science Night" on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 5:30pm - 8:30pm.  They need students who are taking advanced science classes and are excited to help teach science to elementary school children.  Please contact Shoshana Brower at 805-496-6968.

The Agoura Hills Recreation & Event Center is having a "Vantastix Night to Remember with Dick Van Dyke"
This event is part one of the Once City One Book program on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 5:30pm - 9:30pm.  There are numerous events where volunteers are needed.  Please contact Donna Conlin at 818-597-7325.
