| For 10th Grade Parents and Students |
On Wednesday, April 13, 2016, all 10th grade students will take the CST Science Test in order to assess the students' mastery of California Science standards. This exam will be administered state-wide in Life Science before a full transition to testing aligned with the Common Core State Standards takes place in future years.
All 10th graders will be notified of their testing location (an assigned classroom) and are to report to that location at 7:50a.m. All students should bring their student identification, a jacket (the classrooms can be cold in the mornings) and a #2 pencil to test with. Please note, we will be on a regular block schedule that day with Periods 0, 2, 4, and 6. All 10th graders will be testing for the entirety of Period 2.If your student has a zero period class, they will attend that class and then report to their testing location. Please talk with your child about the importance of this exam. If you have any further questions, contact Kristin Geiger at kgeiger@lvusd.org.

Want to be involved in setting financial priorities for Las Virgenes Unified School District? The Las Virgenes Unified School District will host two community forums which will review the district's draft Local Control Accountability Plan for the 2016/17 school year.
The Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) is our district wide learning plan. The specific things we will be doing to ensure our students are successful and we continue to improve in our craft.
Las Virgenes Unified convened an LCAP Advisory Committee composed of representatives of different district stakeholders and student subgroups. The committee has made plan recommendations based on the review of student performance data and parent and staff survey results.
Administrators will share these recommendations with the public in the upcoming community forums. The community is invited to attend and participate in the discussion.
Wednesday, April 13, 2016, from 6 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at A. C. Stelle Middle School (multipurpose room, 22450 Mulholland Highway, Calabasas)
Thursday, April 14, 2016, from 6 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lindero Canyon Middle School (multipurpose room, 5844 Larboard Lane, Agoura Hills)
We are a very high-performing district where student achievement and community involvement have always been a priority, through this process we continue to look for ways to improve student performance and experience and we welcome input from the community.
