Greetings, Charger families!

We hope you had a wonderful Spring Break! We are excited to see everyone back at school on Monday but don't forget -- it is a Late Start Day! We start off with a busy week including our Parent Ed Night on Wednesday, called "Pot, Prom & Promiscuity on Party Buses." This event is not just for parents of seniors. At some point, nearly all parents are faced with the teen party scene, particularly senior year. Come and hear from the experts about how to make sure your student has a great time while still staying safe.

Have a great week, Chargers.

Parent Ed Night:
Pot, Prom & Promiscuity on Party Buses
Is your child attending prom? Do you know all of their friends?  How will they be getting to prom?  What are their plans for after prom?
What can we do to keep our kids safe?
Learn to recognize the signs that your child might be experimenting with drugs.
These topics and more will be covered:
April 6, at 7:00p.m. in Room A-1.
AP Exam Pre-Administration Sessions
Pre-Administration sessions for those students who are taking AP exams this year will be held at the PAEC (Performing Arts and Education Center) during support period (7:50 - 8:30ish).  They must be PROMPT. Students will not be admitted to any session after 8:00. STUDENTS ARE ASSIGNED BY LAST NAME.

The Pre-Administration sessions will be held on the following dates:

Tuesday, April 5 (A-H), Wednesday, April 6  (I-R), Thursday, April 7 (S-Z), and Friday, April 8 (Makeup for those students not able to attend their scheduled date - THIS SESSION WILL BE HELD IN ROOM A-1).

There are four opportunities for students to attend one of the pre-administration sessions.  These sessions are for students to fill out their AP paperwork, so that testing time is only used for testing.  Students should bring their student ID with them to their session.  Again, each student must attend one of these sessions as per the contract they signed this year.   It is their responsibility to attend a pre-administration session.   If they do not attend one of these sessions, they will not be allowed to take any exams nor will any fees be refunded to them.

If you are taking an AP Chinese, Studio Art 2D, or Studio Art 3D.  YOU DO NOT NEED TO ATTEND A PRE-ADMINISTRATION SESSION.

Students who are taking late exams due to IB or sports conflicts must still attend a pre-administration session.

If you have any questions concerning the pre-administration session dates, or if your student has a conflict with theior by phone at 818-825-9574 NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE!!
For 10th Grade Parents and Students
On Wednesday, April 13, 2016, all 10th grade students will take the CST Science Test in order to assess the students' mastery of California Science standards. This exam will be administered state-wide in Life Science before a full transition to testing aligned with the Common Core State Standards takes place in future years.

All 10th graders will be notified of their testing location (an assigned classroom) and are to report to that location at 7:50a.m. All students should bring their student identification, a jacket (the classrooms can be cold in the mornings) and a #2 pencil to test with. Please note, we will be on a regular block schedule that day with Periods 0, 2, 4, and 6. All 10th graders will be testing for the entirety of Period 2.If your student has a zero period class, they will attend that class and then report to their testing location.

Please talk with your child about the importance of this exam. If you have any further questions, contact Kristin Geiger at kgeiger@lvusd.org.
