AHS STUDENT BULLETIN

The PFC provides this weekly Student Bulletin as a service to our school community, but we do not generate the contents. All questions regarding the announcements below should be directed to Janice Cohen, the Activity and Athletic Secretary. She can be reached via email or by phone at 818-889-1262 ext. 231.

ACADEMICS
CSF Applications: 
CSF Applications for Spring 2016 may be submitted to Mr. Teitell in room
C-5 from February 8th - 12th.  Donations may be paid on the webstore now through February 12th or at the AAC from February 8th - 12th.

IB Environmental:
There will be a mandatory informational meeting for all students interested in taking IB Environmental next year on Thursday, February 4th at lunch in room A-1. Come find out about the summer assignment and what to expect next year. If you cannot attend, please see Ms. Prater or Ms. Elman for more information.


AP Chemistry:
There will be an informational meeting for all students interested in taking either AP Chemistry or Honors Chemistry next year on Friday, February 5th at lunch in room A-1. If you have any questions, please ask Ms. Prater or Ms. Elman for more information.


Message from the Media Center:
If you have dropped a class, you MUST return the textbook for that class to the Media Center.

Attention Sophomores and Juniors!
Do you like working with kids? Are you looking for a fun elective for next year? In the Careers in Education class you get to go off campus and help out at local elementary and middle schools! The class looks great on applications and resumes, can lead to scholarships, and can completely change the way you think about your teachers! There is an interest meeting in room K-2 at Nutrition on Friday, February 12. Snacks will be provided.


2nd Semester Schedule Changes:
If students want to change their schedule second semester, "Request for Program Change" forms available in the Counseling Office now. Students will need to meet with teachers prior to dropping a class. All requests for program changes will be made subject to availability and all requests will be time stamped. The deadline to request a schedule change is this Friday, February 5th. If you have any questions, please see your counselor.

Attention Sophomores and Juniors!
Do you ever wonder why people do crazy things? Do you ever wonder why you do crazy things? If you answered "yes", then you should attend the IB Psychology interest meeting TODAY, February 2nd at lunch in room K-1. See you there!


Attention Students Wishing to Take the 2016 Advanced Placement Exams!
You may now register through Friday, February 19, 2016 online via the Webstore or in the AAC. The cost per AP exam is $100.

ACTIVITIES
Hey Chargers! Come and see Mr. Charger on Friday, February 5th.   
It is at 7:00pm in the PAEC. Watch boys such as Johnny Lee, Ethan Hart, and Calder McEneany compete for the title of Mr. Charger.

February is Black History Month:
This month we will be recognizing African Americans men and women who dedicated their lives towards getting to the equality that exists today. We will be sharing short bios of people who are less well-known but made significant contributions throughout history.


Come Have a Great Time at Cronies Sports Grill and Support the AHS Wrestling Team! The AHS Wrestling Team will be holding their first fundraiser on Wednesday, February 3rd at Cronies Sports Grill in Agoura. This is an all-day event, and Cronies will donate 20% of your total check back to the AHS Wrestling Team! This means Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Happy Hour! Just present the flyer attached (hard copy or mobile device) with your order.

Attention All Outdoor Ed Counselor Applicants: This is a reminder that you must attend a training session at King Gillette Ranch: If you missed yesterday's training, you must attend this Saturday, Feb 6 at 9:00am.
 
ATHLETICS
Track and Field Parent Meeting Rescheduled: New and returning T&F parents are encouraged to attend the Track & Field Parent meeting which has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 11th at 7:00 pm in the G Building.
SENIORS
A Senior Information Meeting
will take place on Wednesday, February 17, at 8:45am in the gym. Seniors are to report to their 2nd period class for attendance prior to reporting to the gym. Seniors will receive information on graduation, and senior activities and the Senior Panoramic Picture will be taken following the meeting. You MUST attend this meeting to be eligible to participate in senior activities.

SERVICE LEARNING
The Dole Great Race 2016 is a great opportunity to get involved in a fun, community-wide activity. There are many volunteer opportunities (minimum age is 14 unless working with an adult or sibling). Spots fill quickly! Sign up directly at volunteer.greatrace.run.
